About the Helpline

Who will I be talking to?

Our helpline is staffed by volunteers with training in human sexuallity, crisis intervention, and alternative attractions.

Our email account is staffed by volunteers with personal experience of non-offending pedophilia and years of experience of advising other people with these attractions.

Referrals to licensed therapists

We do our best to connect people with minor attraction to professionals who are quallified to support. The therapists we refer to have all been vetted for:

  • Having a license to practice therapy
  • Open Mindedness
  • Awareness of the issues facing people with attraction to children
  • A strong commitment to client confidentiality

We can connect you to therapists in CA, CT, PA, NY, Canada, and the UK. If you live in a US state not covered by a licensed therapist, we can connect you to a pre-licensed student therapist (telehealth only).

How we keep you anonymous

We do not require your name or location to use our support services. Additonally, we are not mandatory reporters our goal is to help you get therapeutic support, not report you to the police. For more information on safety while using our support materials, read our FAQs About Safety.

About PedHelp

PedHelp is a helpline by the Association for Sexual Abuse Prevention (ASAP). ASAP is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the primary prevention of child sexual abuse, bringing together mental health professionals and individuals who are sexuall attracted to children. The organization provides public health education, while members provide support for non-offending minor attracted persons (MAPs) who want to avoid acting on their attraction to children.
